Brownlee Road, NE
There’s are still places that takes you off the beaten path more than you could even have imagined. The width of a golf cart path and 26 miles long, it’s a best practice to turn off the radio, roll down the windows, and let. your arm drift out to feel the warm breeze. It’s a quiet place, left unchanged by time. The cattle stand close to the fence lines and the farmhouses look like each might just offer you a warm cup of coffee or cool lemonade on their front porches. Beauty in land. Beauty in people and hospitality that I imagine we might meet here.
It wasn’t a planned experience for this trip that we would take a detour down Brownlee road. But the sentiment of past trips down this road and memories of another time in Mike’s life made this the perfect way for us to make our way back to Lincoln on a sunny Sunday.
If you ever have the chance, and love a quiet adventure, this is the place. The only dissappointment we experienced was when we had to turn off the road and back onto the highway into the rest of our travel day.
